The Wilmington District Connection serves as a living network of faith, fellowship, and communication across the Wilmington District of the AME Zion Church. This platform was created to unite churches and members through timely updates, spiritual nourishment, and shared ministry milestones. With a foundation in Discipleship, Empowerment, and Encouragement, the app encourages us to stay connected, deepen our faith journeys, and amplify the district’s collective witness to Christ.

Bishop W. Darin Moore
Honoring the Life and Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Today we pause to remember a man who dared to believe that love could outshine hatred and that justice could rise like the morning sun. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. walked a path lit by courage, guided by faith, and strengthened by a hope that refused to surrender.
His voice stirred a nation, but it was his heart — steadfast, compassionate, and anchored in God’s vision of equality — that continues to inspire generations. He taught us that peace is powerful, that unity is possible, and that every act of kindness is a step toward the world he dreamed of.
As we honor his legacy, may we carry forward the work he began:
• choosing love when anger feels easier,
• choosing justice when silence feels safer,
• choosing hope when the world feels heavy.
Dr. King reminded us that light is always stronger than darkness. Today, may we let that light shine through us.
We remember. We honor. We continue the dream.
Kingdom Six-Month Reset
Passcode: 2025
Dial-In #: (312) 626-6799
Greetings Zion Family,
On Tuesday, January 20, 2026, at 8:00 PM (EST), the Department of Church Growth & Development, in collaboration with the Department of Records & Research invites you to join us for a powerful and timely experience—the Kingdom Six-Month Reset.
This gathering builds on the foundational vision first shared by Brian R. Thompson Sr., President of the Board of Bishops, at the beginning of his tenure. As we reach the midpoint of the year, this moment provides an opportunity to pause, reflect, and realign with God’s purpose and direction for this season of the church.
Bishop Thompson will serve as our guest presenter, guiding us through a time to envision, evaluate, engage, empower, and elevate our collective work—resetting together for renewed kingdom impact.
We encourage pastors, leaders, and members across Zion to join us as we move forward with clarity, unity, and faith.
“The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish in the courts of our God.”
(Psalms 92:12-13 NIV; and see Book of Discipline, Page 400).
Yours in Christ,
Rev. Dr. Eleazar Merriweather
